Camp Update

February 25, 2011

Thanks to our buddy Mikey Allred for engineering the recording session last weekend, it went great! New heartbeater jams on the way!!

New promo/practice photos taken by our friend James Bradley Reed. Check them out here: http://villageparlor.com/?page_id=253

We're playing with Ghostfinger tomorrow night, Feb 26, at Grand Palace. This is going to be one in a series of last shows that Grand Palace is hosting before they move locations. Come enjoy the soon-to-be infamous, first grand palace space!

And as we mentioned before we're playing Road to Bonnaroo at Mercy Lounge on Monday, Feb 28.  Check out this mysterious footage that was put together in preparation of...

Woah! Are Heartbeater time travelers from the past?? Is this for real!? Do aliens exist??

Freshy Pow Pow Day

We have some exciting plans and news to announce for 2011...

First of all, we would like to welcome Marc Primeau to Heartbeater! Marc engineered and mixed both the EP and Slow Waves and is now helping us with the shreds and the writing of new material. He's a badass and has been a pleasure to work with so far! On top of that, we have Chris Click from The Ascent of Everest and Evil Bebos practicing with us and helping to add some rad synth and organ parts. JAM!!

Secondly, we are putting the SLOW WAVES VINYL ON SALE FOR $10! Thanks to the Kickstarter campaign we have an abundance of these records and we want you to have one. This is a super sweet deal because I'm pretty sure you can't get brand new vinyl for less than that.

Thirdly, we have a few new songs written and a couple more in the works. We plan on recording these in the coming weeks with our good friend Mikey Allred from Hellbender, so hopefully you will be able to hear them by April...expect some digital singles or maybe a 7 inch!

And lastly, we need your help getting to Bonnaroo! We've been invited a second time to play Mercy Lounge's "Road to Bonnaroo" series. We play the first round on February 28 so come out and vote for us!!

From The Nashville Blog: "‘Slow Waves’, an album that combines garage-band-grunge with punk-apocalyptic-surf-rock. Heartbeater has created a cohesive piece of work that flows nicely from the intro to the final track.  Bull’s-eye!"

From the Nashville Scene-"Heartbeater’s brand-new debut full-length, Slow Waves, is just the sort of release we Nashville-dwelling rock ’n’ roll fans want to hear. It’s hearteningly fresh and earnest, but saturated in all the right record-store-clerk-approved rock influences: washy but smart surf-rock noodling (“Dark Horse Rising”), grungy, riff-savvy college rock (“Blackout”), blistering, punk-tinged hard rock (“Heartbeater”), Southern grit (“M.I.A”) and dreamy, far-out psychedelia (“Vaporizer”). Dynamically, it doesn’t have a whole lot of dimensions — it’s really just booming low-end, two handy-with-a-lick indie-rock guitarists, a drummer who lays into the brass and lyrics about, you know, emotions. But next time one of those sequined-cowboy-hatted Okie tourists asks you that question we’ve all been sick of hearing for a couple decades now — you know the one, “You mean Nashville has music other than just country?” — feel free to tell them the following: “We have rock music. We have Heartbeater.”
